And now for something completely the same.
All done. Graduated. Goodnight FL. Maybe we’ll meet again.
The Porpoise Of Meaning
I’m having a weird time of things recently. Computers breaking, internet flaking… you know. So it seems like an opportune time to formalize a life goal.
This is the last time I’m saying it
I don’t like poetry.
There is a reason for that: This is the best I can do.
One more time, with feeling…
One last day in New York.
What do I do?
The only realistic option is to walk around the whole day, or try and catch a Broadway show (apparently cheap seats cost you the whole day in obtaining.)
Unless anyone has a better idea?
Finally
Today, I finished Niall Ferguson’s Empire. The book traveled through five cities over four years (almost exactly), but finally, it is done.
Mini review: First half is brilliant. The second half reads like a rushed summary, and feels almost like an old, dusty, weary historian apologizing to the world about British rule, pointing out items in its defence, and generally having quite a chip on his shoulder about America. Lots of quotes, anecdotes, strange bits of trivia. Very enjoyable book.
One year on…
So I’ve completed a year in the USA.
That is all.
Another update from the big city
Went to more RBNY matches, saw the taping of The Daily Show, went to the Harry Potter movies, took a 3.3 mile walk (the first “Annual 22nd July Do Something Stupid” day) in 44 deg weather in Manhattan, gave up on the New York Times, started a writing project with a friend, drafting a project proposal about music for next semester at school, giving up on being a tourist because I have to start studying, I eat food, drink Pepsi and walk a lot.
*whew*
Also, I miss Crax and ThumsUp. Funny, I didn’t like ThumsUp until they brought it back from the dead.

This post because apparently, Facebook, twitter, Google+ and Gtalk aren’t enough for you guys.
Happy now? Also, stop asking for pictures. Google for Manhattan photos. >.<

Notes from a bunch of islands
Everyone loves lists, right? Here’s what I’ve been up to in New York, New York.
Towel Day 2011
Today I walked from 33rd street to 100th street in Manhattan. Then my phone died. And then I walked back.
Yep.
I saw a couple of houses. One more tomorrow.
For Towel Day, I went to a British place called Tea and Sympathy in Manhattan with a couple of my friends. “It wuz good.” Not as good as Infinitea, mind you, these Poms and Yanks can’t really make a cup of masala chai, because they never understand it. And yet, it was good.
Yes, I live on someone’s sofa.
And yes, that makes it Tea, Sympathy and a Sofa. I know you don’t know what that means, but Towel Day just ended, and I’m happy enough to not explain it. I have my warm fuzzy towel, and the cold can’t get me…
