Notes from a bunch of islands
Everyone loves lists, right? Here’s what I’ve been up to in New York, New York.
- I now live in Queens.
- My office is downtown.
- I saw Neil Gaiman yesterday. He didn’t have time to sign my FIRST EDITION DON’T PANIC, but he did have 500 copies of American Gods (of which I of course got one) and he did say he was sorry. And he had advice. (Imagine! Me, talking (if only via tiny twitter) to one of my favourite authors…)
- I saw a third of the Metropolitan Museum in one day.
- I went to some terrible (and expensive) dinners. I don’t like the advice I’m getting from some people. I’ll warn those people later.
- I have tickets to The Daily Show.
- I’m having more fun than I should, aren’t I?
- I’ve started reading again.
That’s great! Mrs. Neil Gaiman (Amanda Palmer) once responded to one of my comments on her blog. I felt a thrilling ‘brush with fame’. For a couple seconds anyway.
So you’re done with your grad studies then? Living in the big apple. Wow, congratulations to you, I think. I know blogging is terribly passe now, but please keep us posted.

This is an internship. A good break from Florida.
Yes, I should blog more often. But I make about 20-30 updates a day on Facebook *and* twitter, which consumes all my angst and I don’t feel the need to blog. Should give up facebook. It’s not very good.

Right. Facebook. I feel the same way but it’s addictive. I don’t really like twitter though I see your posts there. Tried Google+ yet? It’s like facebook but cleaner and Googlier. Not sure if that’s good yet …
